This week’s theme is the raising of our King.
- Our call to worship response is supplied by the Benedictus in LUKE where Zechariah’s prophecy envisions God raising up, from the house of David, a Saviour.

- The New Testament text in COLOSSIANS presents an extraordinary hymn on Christ that lifts up Jesus as Creator, reconciler, Redeemer, rescuer, head of the church and the one who made peace through his sacrifice on the cross.

- The Gospel text from LUKE recounts Jesus being raised up on a cross with the detail of the inscription over the crown of thorns on his head that says, “This is the King of the Jews.”
